Mr. Wyley Norman Patterson, age 94, of Calhoun, Georgia departed this life Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the home of his daughter in Mascot, Tennessee.

Wyley Norman Patterson was born in Gordon County on January 3, 1928, to Wyley and Nellie Estelle Patterson. He died at home in Tennessee on December 21, 2022. He was married to Frances Christine for 61 years before she preceded him in death. They are survived by their five children James Lamar and wife Joann, David and wife Davina, Duane and wife Lynne Marie, and daughters Shirley, and Linda and husband Michael Ellis.

Norman and Christine lived in Niles, Ohio for 42 years before returning to Calhoun when they retired. There, they enjoyed reacquainting with old friends, worshipping at Belmont Baptist Church and being close to family again.

Besides his children, Norman is survived by seven grandchildren, all of whom he was most proud: Jeff, Mandi, Andy, Aubrey, Max, Amy, and Christine. Also four precious great grandchildren, Kailynn, Ella, Penelope, and Isabel. He loved his two surviving sisters dearly: Mildred Smith and Annie Frances Poole. He was preceded in death by brothers Walter Lee and James and sister Nancy Womack. Norman loved his entire family, including many not here named. Our dad loved his country. He was a master gardener. He enjoyed good conversation with treasured friends. He loved and worshipped God his entire life.

The family will welcome friends and family from 11:00 to 1:00 on Thursday, December 29, at Belmont Baptist Church in Calhoun, where the funeral service will start at 1:00 with Reverend Jim Sellers officiated. He will be laid to rest at Chandler cemetery with Aubrey Deck, Andy Deck, and Max Patterson serving as pallbearers.
