Mr. Wilton Eugene "Gene" Collins, age 90, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the local hospital. He was born October 27, 1933 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Birtie Lee and Effie Mae Putnam Collins. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Collins, sisters Barbara Beecher, Herlene Collins, Virginia Hill. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtie Faith Collins; sons, Jeff Collins(Lori), Rodney Rowe(Katie) of Dalton, GA; daughters, Karen Collins(Angie White) of Louisville, KY, Robin Carter(Richard) of Atlanta, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, J.B. and Carlene Collins, Randall Collins, Barbara Collins of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Collins(Kayla), Megan Collins, Robert Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Alex Rowe, Josie Rowe; great grandchild, Rhiannon Collins; several nephews and nieces.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wilton Eugene "Gene" Collins will be held Thursday November 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Brett Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will follow in the Redwine Cove Cemetery with Ryan Collins, Robert Carter, Colter Faith, Tim Faith, Joey Jenkins and John Erwin serving as pallbearers.
