Mrs. Willie Jean Stokes, age 80 of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at her home. Jean was born March 7, 1934 in Ringgold, Georgia, a daughter of the late William T. and Nora Hargis Harden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Stokes Sr., sister, Martha Rien.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Cindy Stokes, Glenn Stokes Jr. and Elaine Stokes of Hurst, TX, Kenneth Stokes of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Esslinger of Tunnel Hill, GA, Glenda and Jeff McNeeley of Rocky Face, GA, Patricia Harmon of Akron, OH, Deborah Stokes of Chattanooga, TN, Paula Cargill of Rocky Face, GA; sister, Mary Robinson of Rocky Face, GA; loving friend, Don Speegle of Marietta, GA; fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Willie Jean Stokes will be held Sunday August 3, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Paulette Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Well Star Community Hospice at 4040 Hospital West Drive Austell, GA 30106 in her memory.
