Mrs. Willie Lee Godfrey, age 80, of Calhoun, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Willie was born December 23, 1935 in Bartow County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Jim Nathaniel and Ada Smith Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, J.R. Romine and several brothers and sisters. Willie worked many years at Lacey Mills and was a member of Black Knob Baptist Church in Pickens County. Her life was a testimony of a life lived for her Lord and was never known to speak a bad word about anyone.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Hoyt Godfrey of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Sammy Lee and Linda Gail Godfrey of Calhoun, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana Romine, Judy Ann and Ronald Mauldin all of Calhoun, GA, Tammie and Mark Pankey of Chatsworth, GA, Tracy and Jason Wilson of Ranger, GA; sister, Melody Montgomery of Calhoun, GA; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Willie Lee Godfrey will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Bobby Timms and Reverend Randall Chastain officiating. She will be laid to rest at Johnson Cemetery with Mark Holt, Jason Randolph, Hayden Randolph, Morgan Holt, Kalem Clark, Jeff Romine, Chris Godfrey and Bryson Romine serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at Ponders Fairmount Chapel
