Obituary

Mrs. Willie Mae Burk, age 82, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday afternoon, June 4, 2023, at the local hospital. Willie Mae was born April 3, 1941, in Floyd County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Smith and Daniel Morrow, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arlon and Grace Burk, her only son, James Kilgore, and brothers, Bo Morrow, Mark Meadows and John Wayne Morrow.

Willie Mae was precious and loved by everyone. It didn't matter what day or time if she was needed, she was there. She didn't hesitate to answer the phone, be wherever you needed her to be or do whatever you needed her to do. No matter what was happening in her life she was the rock and anchor of everyone, and she was always there through thick and thin. You could always count on her with open arms. She put everyone else first even sometime at the expense of her own needs. This world will never be the same without her. Heaven gained a true angel, and we are left picking up the pieces without our hero because, to the world she may have been one person, however to a lot of us she was our world.

Willie Mae is survived by her loving husband, James A. "Junior" Burk; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mitchell Parham; daughter-in-law, Regena Kilgore; grandchildren, Monica and Randy Manis, Tina Manis, Tara and Elvis Wheat, Angel Vaughn, Brittany and Nathan Payne, Tasha Parham, Geoffrey Goff, and Sarah Goff; great-grandchildren, Erica and Kelsey Hunt, Trevor and Kindra Manis, Tasia Manis, Andy Chastain, Faith Hanson, Kaydence Atkins, Kenliegh Suits, Damon Henderson, Abbie Payne, Gracelynn Parham, Juan Manis, Chance Harmon; great-great-grandchildren, Brookelynn Manis, and Elena Manis; sister, Margaret Rainey; special nieces, Monda Wooten and Tracy Chastain; several other nieces and nephews.
