Mr. William "Willie" Whiteside, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Willie was born May 7, 1957, in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Marvin and Carol Robinson Whiteside.  He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Sheryal A. Whiteside.

Willie was a 1975 graduate of Dalton High School and was employed by the Dalton Public School system for over forty-eight years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved being outside in nature and enjoying God's great earth.

He is survived by his devoted wife of forty-four years, Gail Mullins Whiteside of the residence; sons, Andrew Pierce Whiteside of Sandy, Utah, and Jacob "Jake" Whiteside of Dalton, GA; brother, Danny and Kim Whiteside of Cohutta, GA; sister, Darlene and Ricky Whitener of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. William "Willie" Whiteside will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with his son, Andrew Whiteside, Reverend Randy Deal officiating. He will be laid to rest at Foster Family Cemetery with Kelly Ridings officiating graveside, and  Kane Whiteside, Todd Middleton, Kevin Whitener, Nick Ridings, Zach Ridings, and Clay Bishop honored to serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
