Mr. William Merley Thompson, 70, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born July 25, 1949 in Dalton, GA a son of the late William Henry and Lona Belle Sartin Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Wayne Thompson, David Thompson, sister, Jean Muse. He proudly served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his children, William Henry Thompson, Billy Jo Calderon; brothers, Henry Thompson, Rodger Thompson both of Chatsworth, GA; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. William Merley Thompson will be held Monday July 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor James Whaley officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
