Obituary

William Joseph Orizetti, Sr., age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on May 28, 2026, at a local hospital.

William was born on December 12, 1949, in Shelby, Mississippi, the son of the late John Joseph Orizetti and Ruth Bounds Pugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, William Joseph Orizetti Jr. and Kevin Paul Ring; brother, James Delmo Orizetti; sister, Ruth Ann Orizetti; and his brother-in-law, Michael Clark.

William was a man whose family always came first. He was a hard worker who dedicated himself to providing for and caring for those he loved. While he could be a grizzly bear to adults, he was a teddy bear when it came to children. Known for being a good listener, William would sit and listen for as long as someone needed him, offering comfort, wisdom, and understanding. His love, strength, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Carolyn "Carney" Orizetti; daughters and sons-in-law, Twylia and Jeff Corbin of Dalton, Georgia, and Margaret Kirby of Alabama; sons, George Anthony Orizetti of Dalton, Georgia, Kenneth Minchew of Alabama, and Mickey Allen of Mississippi; sister, Mary Clark; grandchildren, William Joseph Orizetti III, Jennifer Nicole Mazzarese, Wolf Corbin, John Joseph Orizetti II, Georgio Giovanni Orizetti, and Carolyn Alisha; great-grandchildren, Azeala and Anthony Mazzarese; along with many nieces and nephews related by both blood and bond.

Services to celebrate the life of William Joseph Orizetti, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.

William's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
