Mr. William Robert Hughes, Sr., age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018 at the local hospital.  Robert was born August 5, 1953 in Valdosta, Georgia, a son of the late Paul and Ira Hughes.  He was also preceded in death by his son, William Hughes, Jr., his brother, Teemus Hughes and a sister, Bettyann Hughes.

He worked for twenty-five years at J & J Industries.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Roxie Lee Scott Hughes; daughter, Ira Hughes and Kenwin "Champ" Printup, Sr.; grandchildren, Kenwin Printup, Jr, Kendale Printup, Kendra Branson, Trey Branson, and Tristen Branson all of Dalton, GA; sisters, Paulette Simpson, Debbie Hughes and Jenny Hughes all of Bartow, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
