Mr. William Bobby Hayes, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, November 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born February 6, 1944 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Willie Lee "Jim" and Della Brown Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Steed and Mary Ann Hayes, sisters, Wylene Seay, Ruby Sisson, Juanita Banks, Grace West and Imogene Ridley and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Montyne Duncan.
Bobby was a 1962 graduate of Valley Point High School. He retired from Organic Dye Stuff and was currently a salesman for Alco Dye Company.
Bobby loved life and enjoyed pulling a joke on his friends and family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Shirley Ann Hayes of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Tony Andrew and Anita Hayes; daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Rick Laster; grandchildren, Tristan and Josh Moses, Maci Hayes, Jacob Hayes, Evan Laster and Owen Laster; great grandson, Alexander Moses; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and D.L. Flood; special cousin, Beverly Young all of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Bobby Hayes will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Ellis officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Ronnie Shadwick officiating and Jacob Hayes, Roger Flood, Rodney Hayes, Chris Banks, Eddie Watson, Jonathan Watson, Fabian Hernandez and Josh Moses serving as pallbearers. Eric Hayes and Ronnie Sisson will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
