Mr. William Bruce Cook, age 57, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday evening, February 11, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1956 in Georgia, a son of the late William Carson and Leda Hope Harper Cook. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Kay Ledford.

William was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and enjoyed nature. He was retired from Peabody Coal. He had a passion for motorcycles and was an eleven year member of ABATE. He loved is children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a simple man who will be truly missed by many. He never met a stranger and had friends from all over. He was very proud of his Cherokee heritage and live his life accordingly.

He is survived by his son, William Shane Cook of Rocky Face, GA; daughters, Christy Michelle Tufts of Chattanooga, TN, Shayla Cook of Wharton, WV; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Tammy Selbe of Charleston, WV; sister, Donna Jean Cook of WV; grandchildren, Sarah Tufts, William Jacob, Summer Micole Cook; great grandchild, Braydon Clark Wooden.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Bruce Cook will be held Wednesday, February19, 2014 at the Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV. He will be laid to rest at the Cook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday February 17, 2014.
