Mr. William Oscar "Dub" Brummitt, Jr. age 90 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, May 16 2015 at the local hospital. Dub was born February 4, 1925 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late William O. and Cleo Gertrude Hudgins Brummitt, Sr. Dub was also preceded in death by a son, William David Brummitt, grandson, Nathan Brummitt and a brother, Newell Brummitt. He was an auto body repairman by trade.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Catherine Wood Brummiett; sons and daughter-in-law, Kim Brummitt, Ken and Kimberly Brummitt; grandchildren, Emily and Michael Brown, Jennifer and Wesley Ward; great-grandchildren, Aidan Brown, Ashton Brown and Merritt Ward; sister, Frances Durkitt; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Oscar "Dub" Brummitt, Jr., will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Sammy Duke officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel one hour prior to the service.
