Mr. William Charles "Billy" Whitfield, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, November 07, 2013 at the local hospital. Billy was born September 20, 1935 a son of the late Otis and Cleo Whitfield. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Farris, Olan, J.C., Travis, and Dink Whitfield, sister, Lee Gravett. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia Wilson Whitfield of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Michael Babb Sr., Kimberlee and Thomas Redwine of Dalton, GA; son, Tony Whitfield of Calhoun, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Whitfield, Trammell and Betty Whitfield of Calhoun, GA, Kenneth and Linda Whitfield of Greenacres, FL; grandchildren, TaLisa, JoAnna, Mike Jr., Stephanie, Matthew, and Nathan; great grandson, Jayvid; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Charles "Billy" Whitfield will be held Sunday November 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from the Dug Gap Baptist Church with Dr. Byron Edens officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday.
