Mrs. Willena "Billie" Farmer Brookshire, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, December 8, 2017 at the local hospital. Billie was born January 1, 1933 in Chatsworth, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Ellis and Hazel Cockburn Stroud. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn Farmer and Jim Brookshire, daughter, Brenda Owenby, sons, Larry Farmer and Gary Farmer, granddaughter and her husband, April and Gary Theis, great-grandson, Jacob Theis and a sister, Carolyn Watkins.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Farmer of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Scott Farmer, William Owenby, Glenn Owenby, Marty Farmer and Haley Farmer; great-granddaughter, Brittany and Jesse Hollingsworth; great-great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Jayci Hollingsworth; daughters-in-law, Evelyn Harmon and Regina Farmer; son-in-law, Steve Owenby; sisters and brother-in-law, Glenice Phillips, Johnnie and John Tudor, Jennie Jennings; several other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Willena "Billie" Farmer Brookshire will be held Monday morning, December 11, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend John Tudor officiating. She will be laid to rest at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
