Mr. Willard Clifton Owens, age 67, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, June 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Willard was born April 15, 1946 in Chatsworth, Georgia, a son of the late Frank and Josie Rymer Owens. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Russell Johnson. Willard was a graduate of North Whitfield High School, proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and was retired from Constatine Carpet Mills. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #167 at Chatsworth, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Blanchard Owens of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Judy Owens of Summerville, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Leigh Johnson, Heather Moody both of Dalton, GA, and Stephanie and Kevin Crane of LaFayette, GA; grandchildren, Craig Owens, Audrianna Flowers, Katteri Waters, Jacob Moody and Tristan Hendrix; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelia Goble and Cynthia Straw both of Dalton, GA; brothers, Earl Owens, L.C. Owens, Kenneth Owens all of Chatsworth, GA, and Leroy Owens of Dalton, GA; mother-in-law, Rhonda Sanders of Power Springs, GA; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Willard Clifton Owens will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Vince Goble and Reverend Art Graves officiating. He will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, with Craig Owens, Bruce Owens, Tracey Owens, Stephen Straw, Trannon Goble and Kevin Crane serving as pallbearers. American Legion Post #112 will provide military graveside honors.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
