Mr. Wilburn Eugene “Bean” Wells, age 73, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the local hospital. He was born on December 22, 1952, in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Andrew and Jimmie Lou Vineyard Wells. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lillie Mae Wells, brothers Robert Glen Wells, Clarence Paul Wells, sisters Virginia Adams, Maxine Rhoads, Mary Allen.

He is survived by his; daughter and son-in-law, Janae and Andrew Milen; son, Shawn Eugene Wells, all of Cleveland, TN, sister and brother-in-law, Olivia and Tony Wright of Rocky Face, GA, Rennie Kaye Brown of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother and sister-in-law, William “Butch” and Betty Jo Wells of Chatsworth, GA; sister-in-law, Patricia Jean Riddle of Greenville, SC, as well as a number of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Wilburn Eugene “Bean” Wells will be held Friday, August 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Daniel White officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at New Hope Cemetery in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, with Shane Griffin, Seth Brown, Justin Brown, Garret Milen, Caden Milen and Shawn Wells serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Friday until the service hour.
