Mr. Wayne Roy Henderson, age 78, of Rocky Face, Georgia departed this life, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at his home. He was born October 20, 1943 in Dalton, GA a son of the late John and Alice Franklin Henderson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Henderson, grandson, Roy Walker, son-in-law, Wayne Walker. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for many years and worked for Mason Construction for over twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Henderson of Rocky Face, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Bailey of Dalton, GA, Dustin Henderson, Ethan Henderson, Christian and Erica Henderson of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Sherry Whitley of Atlanta, GA, Sheila Walker of Rocky Face, GA, Thresa and Jeff Walker of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Tabita Moore, Tiffany Brewer, Laura Walker, Sabrina Walker, Linda Whitley, Ella Henderson, Don Whitley, Bradley Walker; eight great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ben and Traci Rankin; sister-in-law, Tracy Henderson; father-in-law, Sonny and Ty Winkle;  several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wayne Roy Henderson will be held Sunday September 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Junior Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunagan Cemetery with Dustin Henderson, Christian Henderson, Ethan Henderson, Don Whitley, Sheila Walker and Thresa Walker serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
