Mrs. Wanda S. Smith, age 71 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday evening, December 30, 2014 at the local hospital. Wanda was born June 17, 1943 in Cleveland, Tennessee, a daughter of the late John and Ella Lee Vaughn Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Reba Barns, Barbara Fowler.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Edward Smith of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Shane Gibson of Chatsworth, GA, Glenda and Herbert Pruitt II of Florence, AL, Brenda Hogeboon of Dalton, GA, Karen Cox of Indiana, Robin Hollingsworth of Columbia, SC; sister, Geraldine Bedwell of Cohutta, GA; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wanda Sue Smith will be held Thursday January 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Shane Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday January 1, 2015.
