Wade Eugene Owensby, age 61, of Ranger, Georgia, departed this life Monday, January 16, 2017 at the local hospital. Wade was born August 15, 1955 in Bryson City, NC, a son of the late Richard James and Thanie Iona Nix Owensby. He was also preceded in death by his sister Wanda Willis.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Owensby of Lafayette, GA, Chuckie Owensby of New York City, NY; daughter, Brandy Owensby of Lafayette, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Kay Owensby of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Beverley Ann Williams of Resaca, GA, Linda Carol and Walter Henson of Ellijay, GA; seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Wade Eugene Owensby will be held Friday January 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jason Pace officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
