Mrs. Virginia Hill, age 88 of Chattanooga, TN, departed this life, Tuesday May 25, 2021 at her home with her family at her side as she peacefully transition to her Lord Jesus Christ. Virginia was born March 11, 1933 in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of the late Allen and Rosa Westbrooks Couch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hill Sr; daughter-in law, Suyen Thompson, son David Hill, also three brothers and two sisters. She was retired from Hamilton Place Mall. She was a member of Greater St Mary Baptist Church and a member of Stephens Temple Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America until her health failed.

Virginia is survived by her son, William "Poochie" Thompson, Joe (Miranda) Hill, Brian (Jenery) Washington Sr, Jeffrey Jones, Melvin Joel Malone; daughters, Gwendolyn (James) McClain, Mary Ann Hill, Christy Hill-Inman, Wanda ( Wilson ) Cain, and Wanda (Lamar) Threat, daughter-in-law Delores Hill, sister-in-law Hazel Hill, special loving and devoted nephew, George (Nancy) Hughley, life-long friends Virginia Wills and Mamie Green, 50+ grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Service to celebrate the life of Virginia will be held Friday June 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from Ponders Brainerd Chapel with Elder Earnest Jefferson officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. from Chattanooga National Cemetery with George Hughley, Nathan Hill, Brandon Woodruff, Stanley Westbrooks, Danny Westbrooks, Maurlyn Thompson serving as pallbearers. The grand-daughters of Mrs. Virginia Hill will serve as flower girls.

The family will receive friends Thursday June 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ponders Brained Chapel.
