Mrs. Virginia Ellis., age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, July 1, 2024, at her residence. She was born July 15, 1937, in Old Fort, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Silas Alexander and Mary Etta Wilson Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth and Roy Beavers, brothers, Kinzel and Jeanette Ledford, Donald and Barbara Ledford, J.R. Ledford, Marvin "Bud" Ledford. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and committed member of the Joy Ladies Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband of 63 year, Bobby Lee Ellis of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Phil Weaver of Chatsworth, GA, Deb and Bill Hollard of Knoxville, TN; sisters-in-law, Joe Ledford of Dalton, GA, June Ledford of Cleveland, TN, Felicia Henson of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Nic and Joslyn Weaver, Beth and Laban Howard, Dee Kistner, Jason Kistner; great grandchildren, Laban Howard Jr., Lexie Howard, Lydia Howard, Huxton Weaver, Ryden Weaver; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Virginia Ellis will be held Saturday July 6, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Mark Seay officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
