Mr. Virgil Leroy Duncan age 69, of Dalton, GA, departed this life Wednesday February 21, 2018, at the local hospital. He was born August 30, 1948 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late T.M. and Minnie Brock Duncan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Meier Duncan, brother, Gerald Duncan. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved to hunt, fish and the outdoors.

He is survived by his step children, Kevin and Lynda McDermott, Curtis and Angela McDermott, Keith McDermott, Laura Edwards all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Nathan and Wendy Saylors, David and Brandi Saylors, Ashley and Casey Saylors, Corey and Cherie McDermott all of Dalton, GA, Brittney Edwards of Chattanooga, TN; great grandchildren, Mallory McDermott, Makayla McDermott; special friend, Mary Jo Brown and family of Lafayette, GA, special fishing buddy, Buell Gilbert of Dalton, GA; aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Virgil Leroy Duncan will be held Saturday February 24, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
