Mrs. Vira Lee Curtis, age 89 of Dalton, GA., departed this life, October 12, 2016 at the local hospital. She was born April 1, 1927 in Gilmer County, a daughter to the late James and Kate Sitten Dotson. She was also preceded by her husband Verlin Curtis and sisters; Evelyn Denson and Effie Wells.

Vira is survived by a sister Eunice Ledford of Dalton, GA, Essie Jones of Red Bank, TN and a brother Jimmy Dotson of Douglasville, GA as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Vira Lee Curtis will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 14, 2016 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Hedrick and Lawrence Wagner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens next to her husband. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
