Mrs. Violet O'Dell, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life, Wednesday January 29, 2020 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born April 11, 1945 in Boaz, AL a daughter of the late Grady and Bertha Kilgore Drain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rheed Nelson O'Dell, brothers, Dallas and LB Drain, great grandson, Braxton Long.

She is survived by her children, Patsy Long and John Geiger of Dalton, GA, Ricky and Tammy O'Dell of Chatsworth, GA, Kevin O'Dell and Amber Winkler of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Elmar and Louise Drain of Dalton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Dale Blackwell, Faye and Jerry Quarles of Tunnel Hill, GA; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one on the way, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Violet O'Dell will be held Saturday February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Chuck Clark officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Hardshell Cemetery in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
