Mr. Verlin Franklin Davis, age 60, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life Friday March 31, 2017 at his residence. Verlin was born May 31, 1956 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Floyd and Ruby Young Davis. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Maxine Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Davis of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Mandy Davis of Dalton, GA, Jeremy and Shanna Davis of Chatsworth, GA; step children, David and Tracy Scoggins, Donnie and Becky Scoggins of Dalton, GA, Dewayne and Teresa Scoggins of Cleveland, TN, Jason and Debra Childers of Dalton, GA, Jennifer Casson of Ringgold, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jesse Randolph of Dalton, GA; nineteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Verlin Franklin Davis will be held Monday April 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Hershel Rogers and Reverend Sammy Randolph officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Marty Davis, Jeremy Davis, Keith Beaty, Donnie Scoggins, Franklin Randolph and Daniel Randolph serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday
