Mrs. Velma Iline Brown, age 72, of Maysville, Georgia and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

Iline was born November 23, 1953, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Guy E. and Louise Ellison Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Brown, who died May 23, 2016; her brother, Edmond F. Ledford; and her grandparents, Lonne and Minnie Mull Ledford and John Wesley and Martha Ellison.

For the past ten years of her life, Iline made her home in Maysville, Georgia, so her daughter, Cynthia Dockery, and her husband, Harold, could care for her. During those years, she continued to enjoy life, and she is now at peace.

Iline was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Iline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia A. Dockery and Harold Dockery of Maysville, GA; cousins, Alan and Lisa Ledford of Dalton, GA; and several other cousins and relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Velma Iline Brown will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her cousin, Reverend Alan Ledford officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. Friday until the service hour.
