Mr. Troy Lee Nix Sr, age 71, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life early Wednesday morning, February 24, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Troy was born August 1, 1949 in Dalton, GA, the son of the late Charlie Neal Nix and Marie Burnett Nix. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jasper Nix.

Troy is survived by wife, Elizabeth Raper Nix, sons, Odice (Kristen) Nix, Troy (Jessica) Lee Nix Jr all of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ellen ( James Chester ) Edgerton, Shirley (John) Seay, all of Varnell, GA, Lucille ( Larry ) Davenport of Ellijay, GA; grandsons, Marcus ( James ) Nix, and Andrew Nix.

Service to celebrate the life of Troy will be held Friday February 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Mark Hunnicutt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Varnell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday February 25, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home .
