Mr. Troy Lane McGatha , age 82, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life, Saturday April 10, 2021 at the local hospital. He was born May 2, 1938 in Centre, AL, a son of the late Orbin and Erma Weaver McGatha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rovene McGatha, sisters, Gail McGatha, Kay McGatha, Patsy Thompson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Edward Brewster and Katherine Weaver Smith, brother-in-law, Donnie Brewster, sister-in-law, Annabelle Brewster, sons-in-law, Allan Watkins, Bobby Ridley.

He is survived by his; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Ronnie Blevins of Chatsworth, GA, Vickey and Tom Smith of Dalton, GA, Regina and Scott Cunningham of Resaca, GA, Kathy and Randy Croy, Pam Ridley of Dalton, GA, Michelle Watkins of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Janice Little of Gadsden, AL,   Peggy Woods of Centre, AL, Doris Seay of Dalton, GA; brothers-in-law, Bill Brewster of Rocky Face, GA, Barry Brewster of Texas, Bobby Brewster of Dalton, GA; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Joffee of Maryland, Susan Brewster of Texas; special friends, Howard and Polly Ridley; eleven grandchildren, Chad McGatha, Jay Blevins, Thomas Smith, Angela Muse, Troy Wood, William Wood, Shannon Rosser, Nancy Ridley, Jerome Ridley, Rachelle Brafford, Tiffani Stanley, Andy Smith; several great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Troy Lane McGatha will be held Saturday April 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend JT Sanders and Darren Locke officiating. He will be laid to rest at the United Memorial Gardens with his grandsons serving a pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

Due to the national health crisis and the Covid – 19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
