Mr. Travis Wayne McBrayer, age 57, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1956 in Calhoun, Georgia a son to the late Robert "R.D." and Lois Millsap McBrayer. Previously Travis proudly served in the United States Air Force and was employed as an electrician at Shaw Industries. He was a member of the Newtown Baptist Church.

Travis is survived by his fianc and best friend Vanessa Evans of the residence, son and daughter in law Wayne and Ashley McBrayer of Ooltewah, TN, daughters and sons in law; Kristy and Richard Beasley of Calhoun, GA, Dana and Josh Hall of Calhoun, GA, Erica and Brandon Kempson of Rome, GA and Nichole and Tim Davis of Chatsworth, GA. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law; Carlton and Trisha McBrayer of Advance, NC, John and Ruth McBrayer of Calhoun, GA, sisters and brothers in laws; Laverne Wells of Calhoun, GA, Barbara and Lee Rushing of Calhoun, GA. Travis had ten grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Travis McBrayer will be held Friday April 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Pratt Hughes and Reverend Rusty Haradon officiating. He will be laid to rest at Fain Cemetery with Jason Wells, Brandon Kempson, Brandon Rushing, Lee Rushing, Micah Bowen and Curtis Wilson serving as pall bearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
