Mr. Tommy David Davenport , age 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life, Wednesday evening August 2, 2017 at the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia. Tommy was born September 19, 1942 in Fannin County, Georgia, a son of the late Reverend Warren and Anna Mae Brown Davenport. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Evelyn Tuggle Davenport who died June 26, 2017, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Millard and Gladys Austin Tuggle and a sister-in-law, Colene Casey.

Tommy was a 1960 graduate of Valley Point High School. Tommy proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Dow Chemical. He was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church.

He is sons and daughter-in-law, Wesley Davenport of Calhoun, GA, Bill and Cindy Davenport of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Josh and Emily Kinsey, Justin Davenport and Josiah Davenport; great-grandson, Kayden Davenport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Deborah Davenport of Rocky Face, GA, Rick and Judy Davenport, Jim and Bunny Davenport all of Dalton, GA; sister, Annette Davenport of Newnan, GA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jess Roegner, Helen and Roy Ingle all of Resaca, GA; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Tommy David Davenport will be held Saturday morning, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Mitch Phillips and Reverend Delmar Davenport officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chandler Cemetery with Josh Kinsey, Justin Davenport, Mitch Hasty, Scott Whitener, Jody Davenport and Jeff Fowler serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Sugar Valley Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning until the service hour.
