Mrs. Thelma Louise Dover, age 89, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, January 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born April 28, 1924 in Gordon County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Clay Walter and Willie Louise Parris Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burrell Cecil Dover; sons, Dennis Dover and Clay Dover and her sisters, Elsie Howerton and Wilam Hawkins. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia. Louise was retired from Hamilton Medical Center where she worked for over twenty-seven years.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Glenn Stancill of Resaca, GA, Wanda Fay Dover and Mary Ann Williams both of Dalton, GA, and Brenda and Terry Self of Dawnville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend Crafton and Charlotte Dover of Chatsworth, GA, Timothy and Kellie Dover of Spring Place, GA; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Louise Dover will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Crafton Dover officiating. She will be laid to rest at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Crafton Dover, Alan Stancill, Timothy Dover, Wesley Dover, Donnie Dover, Mike Smith, Gerald Mathis and Marcus Thomas serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
