Thelma Jackson Cope age 96 of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with Jesus on January 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 29, 1922 in Blairsville, GA a daughter of the late Lonely Lafayette and Dovie Rose Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Cope, grandson Brian Cline and great granddaughter Alexis Harrison, sisters,  Fannie Mae Robinson, Carrie Akins and Evia Thomas, brothers, Carl, Max and Ray Jackson.

She is survived by her sister Maxine Bryson, sister in law Barbara Jackson,  and brother/sister in law Eugene & Andree Cope.  Daughter and son in law, Sharon and Gary Fowler, Margaret and Winston Allen, Nancy Cline and Russell Chapman, son and daughter in law Jimmy and Amelia Cope.  Grandchildren, Jenny and Paul Womac, Jill and Tom Harrison, Jeff and Morgan Fowler, Doug and Nancy Cope, Mitch Cope, Tim and Nancy Allen, Ted Allen, Jason and Courtney Cline and Angie Cline Ellis. Great grandchildren,  Chad, Haley and Cody Allen, Koby, Kyleigh and Kamden Womac, Tyler and Taylor Mckee, Brayden and Charlotte Harrison,  Hannah,  Corbin and Josh Fowler, Jayden and Riley Howard, MaKayla, Caden and Catlin Cope, Sidney, Shelby and Dawson Cline.  Great Great grandchildren Silas and Adrian Hedrick and Raelyn Fowler.  Extended grandchildren Arrin Curnalia, Anthony Gordy, Ethan Center , Briley and Dylan Hensley.  Special nieces and nephews Jean & Andy Pitts, Diane Combs, Dorothy Goodling, Frank & Ann Akins, Kathy and Randy Payne. Special aunt Alma Long. Very special friends, Pat Payne, JC and Doris Beavers. Several nieces and nephews survived.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Thelma Jackson Cope will be held Thursday January 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jerry Beavers officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawn Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
