Mr. Terry Garner Schutt, age 86, of Adairsville, Georgia, formerly of Salisbury, MD. entered into God's kingdom peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at his home. Terry was born October 29, 1936 in Yoe, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Francis Bishop and Elsie Romaine (Garner) Schutt. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Marjorie Ann (Korman) Schutt and a daughter, Angelique Lonolia Schutt.
Terry was a 1956 graduate of Belair High School in Belair, MD, and studied at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1966. He was a Senior Aerospace Engineer, Writer/Instructor and worked many years at G.E. Aviation and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Terry was the International Director 1998-2000 at Toastmaster International.
Terry's passion in life was his love for competitive public speaking with Toastmaster International. He gave many award-winning speeches. He was a die-hard Patriots football fan. He also cheered for the White Socks baseball team. He enjoyed doing puzzles, modeling rocketry and enjoyed playing board games and cards.
Here are some of Terry's favorite sayings. When asked how he was doing, he would say "Fine as frog hair", or "Honky-Dory". "This is your Pop here". "Love You and God Bless, Bye, Bye". "Go Patriot's!!" "Don't be afraid to ask; the worst thing they can say is NO".
He is survived by his wife Kaye (Synder) Schutt, of Salisbury MD; a daughter, Merry Kathleen Haberman of Pittsburgh, PA; sons, Terry Rice (Leigh Ann) Schutt, of Chester, SC, Gerry Kenneth (Marcy ) Schutt of Dayton, TN, Jerry Neal Schutt of Adairsville, GA, and Kerry Francis (Deanna) Schutt of Syracuse NY; mother of his children, Shirley Rice Clarke of Adairsville, GA; grandchildren, Trenton, Dalton, Garner, Douglas, John, Tanya, Robert, Darien, Brad, Ashley, Nastassya, Anthony, Karci, Bretta, Michayla, Angelique (James), Matthew (Adrian), and Jason (Emily); great-grandchildren, Desiree, Damian, Iliana, Liam, Corban, Elowen, Kadian, Logan, Mason, Jameson, Kimberly, Brett, Ronnie, Dylan, Kazen, Wyatt, Ellie, James Jr, Gabriel, Elliot, Leeann, Steven, Billy, Donnie, Tristan, Taylor, Braylee, Madison, Zoey, Skylar, Chloe, Baylee, Kyri, Kayonnia, Jaxxson, Haven, Dylan and Athena.
After losing his daughter Angelique from Leukemia at the age of 3, Terry had been donating money to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The family would appreciate donations made in honor of his memory instead of flowers. https://givenow.lls.org/
