Mr. Terry Prather, 59, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, July 10, 2020 at the local hospital. He was born August 6, 1960 in Cumming, GA a son of the late Robert Elmo and Mary Virginia Quarles Prather. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lanny Elmo Prather, Ricky Michael Prather.

He is survived by his companion, Annie Mae Fortner of the residence; son, Terry Scotty Prather; daughter, Gena Lee Prather; adopted children, Michael Cole, Frank Fortner, Janette Silcox; brother, Robert "Bobby" Prather.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Terry Prather will be held Friday July 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Michael Cole and friends officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Chris Payne, Michael Cole, Jonathan Watts, Melvin Wasdin, Nick Sanders, Jacob Bassett and Frank Fortner serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

Due to the National health crisis, social distancing is required and mask are recommended.
