Sylvia Hodes Zuckerman, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at her home.

Sylvia was born July 6, 1928, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Morris A. and Mary Roseman Hodes.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Dr. Joseph I. Zuckerman, and her brother and sister-in-law, Alvin David and Elizabeth "Liz" Hodes.

Sylvia was a 1945 graduate of GPS and earned her education degree from Vanderbilt University.

Sylvia was an exceptionally beautiful and meticulous person who was a lifelong caregiver to her family.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mizpah Congregation.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Rich Wile of Chesterfield, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Zuckerman of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Katy Wile and her fiancée, Clay Cowan of Brooklyn, NY, Tim and Andrea Wile of Dallas, TX, and Jay Zuckerman of Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren, Henry Wile and Caroline Wile; niece and nephews, Leslie and Ron Swichkow of Tampa, FL, and Andy Hodes of Chattanooga, TN; several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mizpah Cemetery with Rabbi Craig Lewis officiating.
