Obituary

Mrs. Syble Hemphill, age 89, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Dalton Square assisted living facility.  She was born February 12, 1935 in Chatsworth, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Herbert and Ida Mae Gordon Long. She was also preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Robert Hemphill Jr., sister Katherine Frances Hill, brother Charlie Long, granddaughters, Jennifer Rolen, Syble Srader, son-in-law, Bill Greeson. She was a member of the Eastern Star Tilton Lodge 525.

She is survived by her daughter, Robbie Greeson of Dalton, GA, Pamela and Dennis Srader of Florida; grandchildren, Marty Srader, Nicholas Srader, Jay Osborne, Ben Greeson; great grandchildren, Heaven, Katie, Megan, Dalton, Nora; Kirsty; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Syble Hemphill will be held Tuesday August 27, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Randy Postell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
