Ms. Sybil Arlene Ketchem, age 79 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday April 29, 2019 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care after a hard battle with cancer. She was born June 8, 1939 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Ernest Ketchem Sr. and Geneva Jackson Ketchem. Sybil adored her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She loved children and her greatest joy was in baby sitting and spending time with them. These and many more children benefitted from her kindness to them. She was retied from Dependable Rug Company. After retirement she was caregiver for her mother until her death. She was greatly loved by all who knew her and will be surely missed. She confessed Jesus as her Lord and was baptized at an early age. Shortly before her death she expressed assurance of her heavenly home.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Cecil Vick of Rocky Face, GA, brother and sister-in-law, James and Marion Ketchem of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Ms. Sybil Arlene Ketchem will be held Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
