Mrs. Sybil Deloris Clifton

April 19, 1951 – September 20, 2025

Mrs. Sybil Deloris Clifton, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Sybil was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on April 19, 1951, to the late Virgil and Annie Chandler Moore. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Floyd Clifton; sons, John David Clifton and Billie Joe Clifton; brothers, Virgil Moore, Jimmy Moore, Jackie Moore, James Moore, and Frankie Moore; sisters, Rita Dyer, Audrey Gibson, Zondra, Wanda Thompson, and Pamela Oglesby; and grandchildren, Misty Threadaway and Lonnie Threadaway, Arabell and Willow Parker.

Sybil enjoyed simple pleasures in life. She loved working jigsaw puzzles, reading her Bible daily, and most of all, spending time with her family and cherished grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tony Blalock of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ena Sharp and Sandra Hull, both of Lafayette, GA; grandchildren, Tiffany Clifton, Timothy Clifton, and Sandra Clifton, all of Dalton, GA; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will deeply miss her presence.

A memorial service for her Georgia family will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Valley Grove Cemetery in Wedowee, Alabama.
