Mr. Steven Dale “Steve” Jeffers, age 72, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born November 10, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Alfred and Melody Dobbs Jeffers. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ken Jeffers, Gary Jeffers, Ronald Jeffers, Wayne Jeffers. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Steve was stubborn, but compassionate, once he had his mind made up it could not be changed. He loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty nine years, Betty Jeffers of the residence; daughter, Stephanie Jeffers of Dalton, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven and Renee Jeffers of Grand Junction, CO, Anthony Brian Stowe of Indiana; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jim York of Clark Range, TN, Judith Goins of Dayton, TN; grandchildren, Amber Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers, Landon Stowe; uncles, Dean Dobbs of Coker, AL, and Jim Dobbs of Murfreesboro, TN; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Steven Dale Jeffers will be held Tuesday March 31, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with the American Legion Post 112 in charge of military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday. Kyle Long, Chad Rhudy, Brandon Dempsey, Adam Tankersley and Zachary Boyd will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
