Mrs. Stella Mae Workman age 75 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Friday January 3, 2020 at the local hospital. She was born December 8, 1944 in Flat Rock, Alabama, a daughter of the late Tony and Ethel Massingale Lofty. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Workman, daughters, Teresa Dale Collier, Evelyn Sue Knight, sisters, Nancy Roger, Beadie Smythers, Becky Weeks.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Hewitt Jr. of Dalton, GA, James and Kathleen Knight of Hixson, TN, Charles "Chucky" Knight of Dalton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and JR York of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Judy Lofty of Dalton, GA, Daniel and Dovie Lofty of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Salley Baker of Rocky Face, GA, Martha Franks of Dalton, GA; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Stella Mae Workman will be held Tuesday January 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend David Pangle officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
