Mr. Stanley Fortenberry age 55 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Saturday June 17, 2017 at the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, GA. Stanley was born October 11, 1961 in Pikeville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, T.N. Fortenberry, mother, Ruby Smith Gauger. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Millie Fortenberry of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Melanie Gibson of Dalton, GA, Tabitha and Ryan Newton of Chatsworth, GA, Tara Fortenberry, Genie Silvers of Dalton, GA, Nichole Manis of Chatsworth, GA; step brother, David Gauger of Soddy Daisy, TN; grandchildren, Jada Gibson, Lexi Gibson, Kaitlyn Newton, Bailey Dennison, Logan Newton, Bryleigh Locke. Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Stanley Fortenberry will be held Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Sonny Rhinehart and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
