Mrs. Shirley Jean Parsons, age 56, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life  Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10:06 a.m. at the local hospital. She was born May 16, 1967 in Ringgold, Georgia, a daughter of the late Leon Cook  and Sarah Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and James Lofty. She got her GED at North Whitfield High School. She worked for over twenty five years at Shaw Industries.

She is survived by her husband, John Parsons; son, Phillip Parsons; sister, Judy Styles and Scott Fowler of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 5, 2023.

In lieu of flowers she would like donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Humane Society. Family and friends may still bring flowers if they wish.
