Mrs. Shirley Jean McArthur, age 59, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Thursday afternoon, September 16, 2021, at Advent Gordon Hospital. She was born January 6, 1962 in Austell, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Jean Franklin, grandparents, Earnest and Martha Wooten, Jim and Margaret Franklin.

She is survived by her loving husband, David McArthur of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Clayton, Kirk and Audrey Clayton of Calhoun, GA; father, James S. Franklin of Resaca, GA; sisters, Pamela and Scott McGuire of Resaca, GA, Lisa and Richard Hagan of Alabama; brother, Kenneth Franklin of Resaca, GA; grandchildren, Christian Clayton, Breanna Clayton, Cheyanne Blackburn, Kaitlyn Clayton, Hunter McDowell, Kurt Charles, Kent Hilburn; great grandchildren, Oliver and Davian Martinez, K'Lynn Colleen, Journee Faith, Kaylin Patsy Clayton; nephews, Bobby, Brandon and Bradley Coker, Zachery Whitfield, Levi Franklin, Justin Burchfield, Jase McGuire; great nephew, Brysen Coker; great niece, Bailey Coker; best friend of 40 years, Bo Twilley; her fur babies, Zoey, Dakota and Nikita.

Service will be held Monday September 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Shane Swift officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will follow in the Faith and Deliverance Church Cemetery.

The family request everyone wear a mask while in the building for visitation and service.
