Mrs. Shirley May Manus, 82, of Ashville, North Carolina, and a former resident of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in North Carolina.

On July 1, 1936 Shirley was born in Pasadena, California, a daughter of the late Charles Edward Richards and Margaret May Doughtery.  Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Thomas Manus; her brother, Carl Sidney Richards; her sister, Marion Sherry; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jesse and Mildred Manus.

Survivors include her niece, Sharon Manus McCollum of Leicester, North Carolina; and several other nieces, nephews, and family also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Manus will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Tac Coley officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the Sunday  service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
