Mrs. Shirley Faye Howard Cooper age 72 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Wednesday September 7, 2016 at the local hospital. She was born July 12, 1944 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late John and Thelma Mathis Howard. She attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Donnie Cooper of the residence; daughter, Lynn Howard of Calhoun, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Tracy Howard of Dallas, GA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Kip Cooper of Ellijay, GA, Pat Cooper of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Alan Raby, Faith Garcia, John Garcia; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Faye Howard Cooper will be held Saturday September 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Lamar Beason and Reverend Crafton Dover officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawnville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Crawford Greeson officiating. Logan Chastain, Michael Byers, Blake Howard, Terry Mathis, Tyler Mathis and Juan Martinez will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
