Mrs. Shirley Vonciel Brown, age 75 of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, Nov. 14, 2013 at the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born March 16, 1938 in Canton, Georgia a daughter of the late Charlie and Victoria Boling Chapman. She is predeceased by her husband Tasker Brown as well as three brothers and three sisters. She and her late husband owned and operated Tasker Brown Construction Co, Shirley was also a member of Northside Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Tasha Brown, Lynn Thurman, and Dwayne and Judy Thurman all of Calhoun Georgia, daughter and son in law; Delilah and Freddy Bagley of Calhoun, Georgia. She had thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Shirley is also survived by a brother and sister in law Hershel and Shirley Chapman of Morgantown, Georgia and a sister and brother in law Charlene and Bobby Sisson of Cohutta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Vonciel Brown will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Ministers Kent Bailey and Terry York officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Chandler Cemetery with Tas Brown, Shane Bagley, Jose Gonzales, Lane Spivey, John David Spivey, Hunt Bagley and Taylor Sisson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday.
