Sherry Lynn
Smith
Oct 23, 1979 — Jun 27, 2026
Dalton
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Smith, age 46, of Ranger, Georgia, who entered her heavenly home on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Sherry was born on October 23, 1979, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Larry Joe Smith and Barbara Jean Pack Smith. She was also welcomed into Heaven by her precious Goddaughter, Reagan Dye, whom she loved dearly. She was also proceeded in death by her Grand-Parents Jess and Jo Mae Smith and Roselee Pack
For 27 years, Sherry proudly worked at Shaw Industries, where she built not only a career but lifelong friendships. She believed in hard work, showing up for others, and giving her very best in everything she did.
More than anything, Sherry was a woman whose life reflected her unwavering faith in God. She stood firm in what she believed and trusted the Lord through every season of life. Her faith gave her strength, and that strength became an inspiration to everyone around her.
To know Sherry was to know unconditional love. She never met a stranger and had a heart big enough to carry everyone else's burdens. If you needed help, she was there. If you needed encouragement, she knew exactly what to say. She would gladly give her last dollar or the shirt off her back without expecting anything in return. She was fiercely loyal, deeply compassionate, and the kind of friend who stayed beside you until the very end.
Nothing brought Sherry greater joy than her family. They were the center of her world and the greatest blessing of her life. She loved with her whole heart and never missed an opportunity to remind those she loved just how much they meant to her. Whether by blood or by choice, if you were part of Sherry's life, you were family.
She leaves behind the love of her life and devoted fiancé of seven years Tim Mills, who was her constant companion and greatest source of happiness. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Robin and Stephen White of Ranger, Georgia, Shell and Paul Smith of Ranger, Georgia, and Tonya and Jack Roberts of Dalton, Georgia; her brother, Chris and Trisha Smith of Ranger, Georgia; her beloved step-sons, Travis and Tiffany Mills of Dalton, Georgia, and Timothy and Brianna Mills of Dalton, Georgia; her treasured Godchildren, Isaac and Kayla Dye, Jacelynn Touchstone, Harper Touchstone, Brinkleigh Touchstone, and Charlie Coker; the children she loved as her own, Jesse, Eli, and Hunter Smith, Zach and Jacob White, and Jasmine, Gabby, and Jackson Roberts; and her precious grandchildren, River and Cullon Mills.
A celebration of Sherry's beautiful life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with Reverend Mitchell Gaston officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Sherry will be laid to rest at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Mills, Zach White, Jackson Roberts, Jesse Smith, Hunter Smith, Danny Smith, and Chris Smith.
Although our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing Sherry has been made whole in the presence of her Savior. The love she gave so freely, the faith she lived so boldly, and the kindness she shared so generously will continue to shine through the many lives she touched. Her smile, her laughter, her strength, and her beautiful heart will never be forgotten.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
