Mrs. Shelia Nevada Holmes, age 67, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, November 4, 2023 at her home.

Shelia was born January 22, 1956 in Cleveland, Tennessee.  She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Lamar Holmes, a son, Eric Holmes, grandson, Steven Holmes, great-granddaughter, Karissa Kriner, a daughter, Sandra Jeanette Goswick, father, Alvin Beecher Belcher and mother and step-father, Anna Faye Freeman and Bill DeFriece, and sisters, Anna Raye Tudor and Vickey Ellen Kenner.

Shelia was a 1974 graduate of Murray County High School. Shelia had the heart of a true care giver. She loved and was loved by her many patients over the years. She earned her L.P.N. degree from Dalton College. She worked many years at Hamilton Home Health Care and Hamilton Hospice.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Holmes, Carolyn Thompson; daughter-in-law, Amy Holmes; grandchildren, Ashley Brewer, Austin Nichols, Kevin and Chelsey Hughes, LeAnn Saylor, Kayla Canessa, Justin and Kateland Saylor, Madison Holmes; great-grandchildren, David James Stanley, Lillian Nichols, Skyleighn Kriner, Cheston Edgerton, Olivia Rose Dixson, James Allan Dixson, Aella Hughes, Jackson Saylor, and Karson Saylor; brothers, William B. Belcher, of Calhoun, TN Harvey D Belcher of Phoenix, AZ, Terry Lynn Belcher; sisters, Alma Ruth Hinkle of Corbin, KY, Rillia Jeanetta Chavez of Calhoun, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shelia Nevada Holmes will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Phillip Burns officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with, Rob Stoker, Stephen Hodnett, Brent Henderson, Shawn Lewis, Reygun Henry, George Faas, Timmy Moses and Dwayne Keener honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
