Mrs. Shelbia Jean Yates Mackenzie, age 79 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, February 6, 2017 at the Morningside of Dalton Assisted Living. Shelbia was born September 5, 1937 in Arab, AL, a daughter of the late Romer and Elzie Landers Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Yates, siblings, Lavon Williams, Lavada Hornsby, Dean Breedwell, Virginia Cooley.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Mackenzie of Dalton, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Yates of Arlington, TX, Wesley and Tonya Yates of Cottontown, TN; daughters and son-in-law, Leesa and Jeff Black of Flower Mound, TX, Angela Yates of St. Simmons, GA; sister, Mag Wilson of Albertville, AL, Bobbie Adams of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shelbia Jean Yates Mackenzie will be held Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. from the Riverbend Church of Christ with Tyler Gilreath officiating.
