Ms. Shanna Arlene Collis Powell, age 40, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was born September 26, 1983 in Canton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gernot Betts, grandfather, Archie Collis, aunt, Lynn Stewart, uncles, Tony Stewart, Jerry Allen, Terry Nation. She graduated from Cherokee High School.

She is survived by her son, Brody Betts of Dalton, GA; daughter, Brynnah Cochran of Waleska, GA; parents, Sheilah and Tommy Cline of Dalton, GA; Terry Walker of Ellijay, GA; grandmothers, Avis Collis of Canton, GA, Peggy Collis of Marietta, GA, Helen Walker of Waleska, GA; brothers, Cody Cline, Chase Cline of Cleveland, TN, Clay Walker of Waleska, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily Brady and Gaylin Ware of Dalton, GA, Aybree and Adam Pugliese of Colorado, Jessie and Jeff Shelton of Canton, GA; sister-in-law, Tara Betts of Augusta, GA; aunts and uncles, Robin and Clay Padgett, Arlene and Travis White, Casey Collis, Richard Nation; special nephews, Kurtis Lykins, Kyson Andrews, Braxtyn Cline, Zaylin Ware, Cash Collis; an abundance of loving family and friends.

Service to celebrate the life of Shanna Powell will be held Friday November 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Stevie Ray officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Gaylin Ware, Keith Gibson, Jimmy Adams, Johnny Sanders, Chase Cline, Cody Cline and Casey Collis serving as pallbearers. Kyson Andrews will be an honorary pallbearer.
